Why Phuket is Becoming More Popular Than Bangkok?

Until very recently, Bangkok remained the ‘destinations in focus’ as far as Thailand Holidays were concerned. Primarily, because Bangkok is the capital of Thailand and also because you can easily get direct and cheap flights to Bangkok. Also, we cannot ignore the beautiful and stunning scenery, excellent shopping, great food and all that Far East is famous for. However, the country went through a decline in tourism after political unrest in the capital. It is also correct to say, that Bangkok has become a little more ‘commercialized’ and over crowded with tourists from all noks and corners of the world. The nearest beach location to Bangkok city, called Pattaya beach located at 2 hours drive approx is so jam packed with tourists that at times it becomes impossible to find some space under the sun for beach lazing. All this lead travelers to directly book flights for the second famous city in Thailand, Phuket.

Bangkok Holidays

Flights to Phuket are via Bangkok anyways. Earlier on, travelers used to look for a stopover in Bangkok before moving on to Phuket however nowadays it’s a much less practiced ritual.

The short term political unrest in the capital did cause long term effect on Tourism that is the blood in Thailand’s economy. However, as the country has maintained a serene and peaceful group of Islands like Koh Samui, Krabi, Chiang Mei and Hua Hin, options are still vast and open for those seeking a pleasure filled holiday under Palm trees.

But the real question is what the best way to make the most of your trip to Thailand? I would say, a little bit of everything. Starting from a night at the capital always works for me. It helps to get rid of the jet lag, have some rest, get used to the atmosphere and take a fresh start to the beach in Phuket. Also, many things tend to be more expensive close to the beach destinations while for shopping, capital provides more options, more bargains and more bulk purchase for cheap items. Plus, there is no additional costs involved as nearly all flight go to Phuket via Bangkok than why not make the most of it and get a complete package Thailand Holiday.
