Welcome to Dubai : An Architectural wonder of this century

Dubai started of as a barren piece of land where the only profession was fishing. It was the time when men from various nearby villages used to migrate to the coastal regions. I remember a friend of mine explained that era by stating:

“My father was a very poor man. He migrated from Yemen to U.A.E. He was literate but there were no jobs, no work. When he came to Dubai, he became a fisher man. That is what every one used to do. He began to sleep on the beach and lived on the fish he caught. The temperature was so high that many people used to sleep on the shore. Life seemed impossible. Than came an Oil company that turned our lives completely”

Oil is no doubt, the black gold of today. Besides every thing, Dubai is a miracle being located in the heart of the most chaotic regions of the world; it is an “Island of Peace”. Dubai is one of the seven estates that make the United Arab Emirates and spans along the Persian Gulf.

The glory of Dubai owes its splendor to the King of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid Al Makhtom, for the Emiraties he is a hero. He is a magician who transformed Dubai into a fantasy of modern world. Dubai of today is an independent city-state with the world’s most iconic mega structures, architectural wonders, advances tourism and gives a glimpse of the farthest developments of Scientific Technology. The tourism is progressing in leaps and bounds, Dubai has world’s biggest millennium malls, and even the airport is transformed into one. It is the hub of real state buyers and sellers, where you can even sell or buy land in shopping malls. Life is electrifying in Dubai. For many Asians and especially technical workers, engineers, Dubai serves as a transforming country. According to many, a couple of years in Dubai and you can return home as a millionaire. Some even say “Money flies in the air of Dubai”. You just need to know how to grip it , but grip it tight. There are lucrative attractions where you will want to spend all of your money, Dubai even has a skiing park where you can play with snow, make snow men and ski when the outside temperate will be more than 40 degrees Celsius.

After giving Dubai, the world’s most amazing mega structures, like Burg Al Arab and most astounding man made Islands “Pal Islands” Sheikh Rashid couldn’t stop at just that. He said that Dubai needs to have its own airline. Where in the world, many countries still don’t have their flag ship carriers since decades, this city-state has its own airline “Emirates”. The launch of Emirates Airways rock the airline industry. Just like Dubai itself, the Dubai National carriers become the first choice of many luxury loving tourists in fractions of seconds. Not only Emirates but airline including British Airways have flights to Dubai on daily basis to fulfill the needs of the large air traffic and tourists to Dubai. That makes Dubai earn its biggest revenue from Tourism and secondly of course, real state. Dubai, however, is absolutely not an expensive destination. It has some thing to offer to everyone. The luxury hotels like “Taj Dubai” have room rates starting from as low as 29 sterling’s and Emirates have special offers every now and than that are really cheap.
