Visiting one of most beautiful lands in Australia, Christmas Island

Visiting Christmas Island

Cheap flights to Perth, from London are most commonly available around the months of September, October, January, February and May. Since, these are the times when most of the airline offer cheap flight fare to Australia. When going to Perth, one must always take some time out to see the beautiful Christmas Island nestled in the heart of Indian Ocean about 2500 km north west of the city.

From Perth and onwards, evenings can be best spent at the neighboring Islands such as the Christmas Island. Although I don’t have a story to back up the history of the name “Christmas Island”, yes but I can tell that it offers a marvelous experience and delightful memories of nature at its best.

To tell you more about the Christmas Island, despite its location in the Australian Territory, it in within close proximity of the Java only 360 km apart. Like most of the Australian Islands, the sand is whitish. History tells the first even human insertion in the island was the Phosphate mine, that was shipped as fertilizer over the years. Followed by a casino, that rocked the Island for ages. They say, people used to come there, literally, with bags full of money, mostly they were Indonesians. The more famous it became the more it was developed into a tourism paradise.

The other reasons that make this Island a more prominent one among the many others, is the easy accessibility. You can get low cost airlines or cheap flight fares to Perth and fly straight to the Christmas Island. In other word, it’s affordable for all budgets and pockets. It’s matchless in natural beauty, yet not as expensive as the Seashells or Caribbean Islands we all long to see.

Christmas Island’s national parks contain around 60% of some of the world’s most unique and exclusive flora and fauna that is found nowhere else. The lavish, un spoilt beaches, the magnificent rocks and the surrounding cliffs make this piece of land a piece of heaven on earth.

The Island, though as natural and pure as a fresh creation of God, is not deserted at all. Apart from all the inspiring locations and picturesque landscapes, Christmas Island is a complete package of entertainment, unlimited. The surf is just as perfect as the Island itself in the months of November to March, the weather is mild and pleasant in December (best place to hang out in Christmas holidays) and in April to October, you can go bushwalking, bird watching, sightseeing or driving in a four wheel.

Christmas Island has a rainbow culture of its own as the settlers include diverse cultures and backgrounds, mainly Caucasians from Australian mainland, Chinese and Malay people.  The Island has all that you can possibly want; there are some fabulous markets, shops, and other such facilities that will keep you fulfilling the real world needs while living in a fantasy like place. The food in Christmas Island has a touch and taste of Chinese and Malay cuisines, mouth watering and exquisite.  The popular wildlife includes Red Crabs, Whales, Sharks, Boobies, Frigate birds and Golden Bosun birds.
