Visiting China : A visit to "The Bathing Paradise" Dalian, China

China is a package of wonders. From one corner to another China is no less than a wonder land in the real world. Apart from the Great Wall or Forbidden City, there are a number of other attractions that make China a complete treat for tourists. One major concern, for many of us is the availability of water sports, beaches and the fun associated with it. Today, that China is no behind in race of technology or entertainment; It also has its own bathing Paradise, the city of Dalian.

Formerly known as “Dairen” in English, The city of Dalian is a governing sub-provincial city, also the second largest in the province of Liaoning. Located in the north east China, Dalian faces to the south and the Yellow Sea to the east and the Bohai Sea to the west and south making it the southernmost city of Northeast China and China’s northernmost (still warm water) seaport. Flights to Dalian are largely via big cities like Shanghai or Beijing. Cheap flights to Dalian are offered by local as well as European Airlines including Lufthansa, KLM and British Airways. As a coastal city at the tip of Liaodong Peninsular, Dalian has rich beach resources that make it a “not-to-miss” destination on all tourist itineraries. As a plus point there are a number of bathing places along the city’s coastline that provide a good choice for beach resort holiday and paradises for water sports lovers. Though the magnitude of the facilities is not a match for a Far East or Caribbean holiday in any sense, but if you are on a trip to the Great Wall or Forbidden city, than why not make the most of it!

The coastal line of Dalian runs 2000 kilometers (1,243 miles). The southern seashore areas bordering the Yellow Sea are typically hilly with ragged cliffs and rugged hills that make up a heavenly landscape. Especially, sun set in Dalian is a treat to watch.

The city is famed as “The Bathing Paradise” due the world class bathing places in the region notably, Fujiazhuang, Bangchuidao and Jianshitan featuring relatively lower water temperatures, steep slopes and big waves. The western coastal line of the city in Baohai Sea has plain seashores with smooth banks, and calm waters. The bathing places in this region are more suitable for beginners and children. However, other bathing places in the region provide a great deal for exciting water sports and other fun activates for adults.

The prominent and famous Bathing places to experience a unique warm water delight in the laps of mother nature are Xinghai Park Bathing Place, Fujiazhuang Park Bathing Place, Bangchuidao Bathing Place, Jinshatan Bathing Center and Xiajia Hezi Bathing Place. The Xinghai Park is considered best out of the other four bathing places in Dalian with all necessary amenities. It is free for public and other bathing places hardly charge a negligible admission fee.
