The rift between North and South Korea has always given raise to questions that whether or not Korea is a safe destination to visit. Especially the most recent attack on a South Korean Island, by the North has made many change their itineraries. However, Visit South Korea is projecting tourism day and night and in a recent statement, Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) president Charm Lee himself has assured that the tension would not escalate into a full-fledged war and did not reflect the daily life in Korea as stated by eturbo.
He added: “South Korea is still one of the safest countries to visit,”
In addition and support of the statement, we can also see that many International airlines have launched flights to Seoul the capital of South Korea in 2010. While the airlines already flying to South Korea have increased their frequencies.
Further reports in 2010, indicate that although tourist graph declined post North attacks, but regained momentum shortly afterwards.
South Korean Government, Tourism board and Visit South Korea campaigns are promoting tourism in the country. Also, many new Tourist attractions as well as technological advancement such as the launch of world’s first electric bus, has been seen in South Korea.
In 2011, South Korea is expected to draw more lime light.
