Visit Africa in Brazil, Salvador

All the six inhabited continents of the world are diverse, each one of them have its own climate, culture, lifestyle and people, probably that’s the reason the division of continents was made at the first place. So it’s really hard to find a place that has the flavours of more than one continent, the Afro-Brazilian city of Salvador is an exception thou. Located in the North Eastern Brazil it was the jewel of the Portuguese Colonies in the New World and is a place where the slaves brought from Africa have been able to preserve their culture to a large extent.

So much was the senses of preservation in the mind of these settlers that you fill find those religions and customs of Africa in Salvador that have long become extinct even in the continent itself. The customs, rituals, dances, music and martial arts every thing in Salvador is unique to the whole of Latin America.

Salvador is the centre of a cultural movement so the festivities and carnivals in this city never end. If you arrive late in the country and miss out on the Rio de Janeiro Carnival then not to worry, because you can be a part of carnivals of Salvador that are celebrated almost every single day. And if you are looking for some pristine beaches then just outside the city you will find some of the whitest sandy beaches of the continent.
