Travel tips : All you should know before taking off to Australia

You need to apply for leave at work, pack your bags, get cheap flights to Australia and book accommodation …I guess that’s what you already know! But the other side of the story, the journey between looking for cheap flights to Australia, getting there and experiencing the country is what we have detailed here for you.

While thinking about Australia – keep your thoughts bigger; for its just not a country but a continent! Whether you want to dig out the history starting from the Kakadu National Park or your first stop is destined to be the sails of Sydney, there will always be one after another surprise in Australia.

Since, we are talking about a massive country it has half the climates of the whole world and diverse terrains ranging from deserts to thick forests and cities bordered with white sandy beaches and laid with sky scrapers. As the distances are long, the best option from the start to the end of your journey is flying. Flights to Australia fly daily from UK to the capitals of each Australian state. Whereas the domestic ones with Virgin Blue flights in Australia, make it a cheaper and easier option to connect the whole continent by only a few hours.  Also, flights in Australia are like a bus service, every fifteen minutes there is a flight between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

  1. Hint 1: to get the cheapest flights to Australia either buy at least 6 months in advance to get the most of “early bird offers” or wait until they start selling last minute cheap flights to Australia. It’s always good to consult a travel agency as they usually have all promotional deals and cheap flight offers all at one place. By this way you can compare the air fares to Australia and get yourself a good flight in a good price. Other way of getting cheap flights is to fly indirect to Australia via Singapore or Hong Kong. This always works in low season, when it’s not too busy.  These connections need advance reservation and usually involve only 2 to 3 hours of connecting time that is required to leave one plane and board another. Sometime there are perks as well, like free stopovers and accommodation at airline’s expense etc.
  2. Hint 2: Travel in the low seasons to save high or vice versa
The other thing to always keep in mind is selecting the appropriate time for flights to Australia. In this case the best time is any time when the “schools are closed”. Peak Traveling Seasons are during School Holidays (late June/July/August), and during national Holidays (Easter / Christmas / New Year). Most airlines usually charge surcharges or high fares during “peak season” traveling, the biggest savings in avoiding these seasons, or booking way in advance.
Lastly where to go? In that case, you might already know half the attractions like the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor, Kangaroo and Kuala Sanctuaries, classic buildings in Melbourne and all. Here is a quick hint.
  3. Hint 3: Choose the destinations by first virtually seeing their photos / images on net
Other than that the popularity of Australia is by dint of its cosmopolitan attractions in big cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. The white sandy beaches in Western Australia, the laneways of Melbourne, desert sunsets over Uluru, world oldest forests of Tasmania  and surf and sun of Sydney. In sports parachuting, bungee jumping, skiing, diving, rock climbing, kayaking or Para trooping are worth takings a try.
