Getting cheap flights to Accra Ghana or finding a reasonably priced accommodation is far easier and convenient now as, many hoteliers and airlines have come together to boost tourism in the country. One such move is the already popular hotel, Obama being the first to be named after the first African American US President. More interestingly, the hotel was inaugurated in July 2009, close to the first visit of President Obama in Accra, Ghana. The reasons for the tremendous popularity of Hotel Obama go beyond the affiliation with US president’s name. As the first visitors to the hotel have given very positive views about it, its friendly, hospitable, clean atmosphere accompanied with good food and services.

In a developing country, Ghana, it’s been always difficult to find an accommodation of good repute and modern design. But hotel Obama has it all. The Obama hotel is situated in the capital’s residential area in close proximity of city attractions and business centers. Inaugurated at America’s Independence Day, July 07, 2009 Hotel Obama is a must stay for Americans. It is owned by Mr. Kwame Owusu a former accountant who lived in the US for almost 25 years.

The designers of this simple yet exceptional hotel have not only chosen the name but have followed the theme of white house very well. The 18 room hotel’s most popular room is “White House”, whereas others room names as “Obama Suite” and “Michelle Obama” a room in the name of the first lady, are also creating a buzz worldwide. Other rooms such as “Martin Luther King”, “Joe Biden” and the most interesting name for a room, “1865” make this hotel a special and extraordinary addition to Ghana’s hospitality and travel industry.

The hotel is so far ranked 4 stars and is likely to develop and build a stronger name with time.  All 24 century amenities and facilities are made available such as air conditioning, Wireless internet connection, cable TV and delicious food. You can also buy snacks from the hotel tuck shop any time and other local items of interest, Ghanaian souvenirs etc can be bought indoors.
