Saint Lucia is an island country in the Eastern Caribbean Sea surrounded by other islands like Saint Vincent, Barbados and Martinique. It covers the land area of about 620 square kilometers. The capital is Castries and an estimated population of about 173,765 people (2009). This island was named after Saint Lucy of Syracuse by the French colonizers.
