This is to accommodate passengers currently stranded at the OR Tambo International airport as a result of recent flight cancellations, it said in a statement. SA234 departs Johannesburg tonight at 9.30pm (SA local time) and arrives in London at 8am (UK local time) on Friday while the SA262 departs Johannesburg at 10pm (SA local time) and arrives in Frankfurt at 8.45am (German local time) on Friday.
"All other SAA flights between South Africa, London, Frankfurt and Munich scheduled to depart today [Thursday], will operate as normal," the airline said.
Flights from South Africa running as scheduled were SA236 Johannesburg to London, SA220 Cape Town to London, SA260 Johannesburg to Frankfurt, SA264 Johannesburg to Munich. Flights from London to South Africa running as scheduled are SA235 London to Johannesburg and SA221 London to Cape Town. Those from Europe to South Africa running as scheduled are SA261 Frankfurt to Johannesburg and SA265 Munich to Johannesburg.
"Passengers affected by recent cancellations are advised to contact one of SAA’s call centres to re-book their ticket on the next available flight to their respective destination."
