A New Agreement between Skal’s New York and London clubs is likely to bring the two cities closer in Air Travel Cooperation. The twinning agreement was signed at Skål International’s World Travel Market luncheon held on Tuesday, November 9 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The luncheon was attended by over 100 travel managers from 22 different countries round the globe. The agreement is aimed to bring about sustained growth during these difficult times in Travel Industry and forge an even stronger bond of cooperation. At this occasion, President of Skål International London Robin Jackson said:
"Cooperation between our two great tourist destinations in developing initiatives together and offering attractive packages will help us strengthen our tourist offers in a very competitive market for market share."
At present the global tourism market is dominated by Far East, Asia and Australian destinations while South Africa is also a key destination for summer vacations. Also, a large number of tourists seeking a budget or low cost holiday heed to Dubai, Singapore and Thailand. In the post-recession travel world, earning revenue from tourism is unavoidable to put falling economies back together. However, Europe, UK and US have lost their positions as travel destinations over the years mainly due to strict visa policy and high cost of travel.
President of Skal International New York, James Sorrel stated:
"By coming together like this we give our Skål members in both our clubs added ammunition to compete under fierce competition for tourists."
Very recently, agreements and mergers of various international airlines in order to offer cheap flights to New York from worldwide destinations are also aiding the cause. Considering that and the above 2011 may prove to be a better year for US travel industry.
