Finnair Cancels More Flights; Strike Continues

Finnair has cancelled flights scheduled to take off today (Tuesday, 17 November 200) because of the current pilot strike.  Altogether Finnair has cancelled over 400 flights because of the strike. The  cancelled flights affect 32 000 passengers. Finnair has said it aims to operate all of its leisure flights regardless of the strike. Leisure flights are operated by Finnair’s management pilots and with the help of leasing arrangements, individual changes in schedules and cancellations are possible.

Customers whose flights are cancelled are advised first to contact the travel agent from which they booked their  tickets. Finnair can also provide telephone service to customers. The numbers are: +358 800 9 3466 and +358 600 140 140 (charges may apply) Finnair recommends that customers postpone their journey if their flight is cancelled due to the strike. If postponement is not possible for the customer, Finnair has said it will try to make special arrangements to enable the journey. A refund of the unused part of the ticket can also be made.
