One of the locally-incorporated airlines based at the Juba airport, Feeder Airlines, has now started flights to Entebbe from the capital of the southern Sudan, making it the first southern Sudanese airline to begin scheduled flights. In the past, Sudan Airways operated flights between Khartoum, Juba, and Entebbe, but faced with aging equipment and regulatory bans, have seen them withdraw from the route.
Feeder Airline is presently operating a network of scheduled flights from Sudan (Juba) to other centers in the southern Sudan, and the addition of Entebbe will further enhance their standing as one of southern Sudan’s leading private airlines.
Who Feeder Airlines (Sudan) are:
Feeder Airlines (Khartoum) is a new regional airline in the southern Sudan, operating with the same name as the southern Sudan aviation network which had been operating in the 1970s. The launch of the airline represents a key milestone in the area’s reconstruction.
According to information from the airline’s office in Juba, the flights will initially take place three times a week, but move to daily flights in due course, using a 50-seater turboprop aircraft.
