Travellers urged to book long-haul flights soon

Travellers planning long-haul getaways this year have been advised that they will benefit from the best prices if they make their bookings over the next two months. Writing for the Telegraph, travel journalist Sophie Butler urged consumers not to miss out on the low prices that are offered by airlines early in the year.

She described January and February as ‘peak season’ for holiday bookings, a time that carriers try to take advantage of by launching sales and promotions. The article recommended a number of operators for people planning to visit Australia and New Zealand, including Malaysia Airlines, British Airways, Qantas and Cathay Pacific.

Travellers considering a trip to South Africa this year can catch direct flights to Johannesburg or Cape Town with South African Airways, while British Airways and Virgin Atlantic were recommended for people heading to the US or Caribbean.
International Currency Exchange recently released figures showing that Thailand is proving a popular long-haul destination among Brits this year.
