Over 90% of bmibaby flights depart on time in January

Cheap flights carrier bmibaby has revealed that more than nine in ten (90.8 percent) of its flights departed within 15 minutes of schedule in January. The figure for February was 84.4 percent, which was remarkably high considering the poor weather conditions that affected most parts of the UK over the course of the month.

Figures from flightontime.info, which uses data compiled by the Civil Aviation Authority, revealed that, on average, 69.3 percent of scheduled flights departed on time between January and September. Bmibaby managing director Crawford Rix said that the airline is working "extremely hard" to ensure that flights leave on time.

"Our results for January and February 2009 are excellent," he said. "Coupled with our excellent customer service and fantastically low fares, our punctuality is why passengers choose bmibaby."

Last week bmibaby increased its number of flights to Nice from Birmingham ahead of the MIPIM conference. The conference, which ran between March 10th and 13th, is the world’s leading real estate summit
