Flight routes being offered to/from Zimbabwe by Air Zimbabwe

“Zimbabwe” is the name of a rich culture, friendly people, genuine smiles and a destination that promises an extravagant experience. Although, since the country has its flagship carrier “Air Zimbabwe”, cheap flights to Zimbabwe are no more hanging in the corner of heaven. Every Monday and Thursday, Air Zimbabwe Flight flies form London Gatwick to Harare International Airport offering cheap and affordable flight fares. The flight times of Air Zimbabwe flight from London Gatwick is departure 18:25, with next day arrival at Harare Airport in early morning. 

On the way back from Harare, Air Zimbabwe flies on Wednesday and Sundays. The return flights of Air Zimbabwe are scheduled in such a way that they fly out around 09 in the morning arriving London Gatwick around 06:30 in the evening ideally suiting those planning to go to work next day. The return flights of Air Zimbabwe on Sundays also fly out in the morning at 9 and arrive in London at 06: 30, making it just the perfect weekend flight.

Air Zimbabwe’s most favorite routes include the flights to Victoria Falls from Johannesburg or Harare. As each year there are millions of tourists flying to this natural wonder also called the “The Smoke that Thunders”. There are three flights of Air Zimbabwe from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday’s departure and vice versa for direct returns. Other than that the flights of Air Zimbabwe from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls fly via Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. These are all morning flights that fly at around 9 am and take approximately 2 hours to reach Victoria Falls.

Air Zimbabwe also flies from Victoria Falls to Bulawayo. There are direct flights of Air Zimbabwe on Tuesdays and Thursdays that fly from Victoria Falls to Bulawayo. However, unlike the other routings of morning departures these flights leave Victoria Falls at around 03 in the afternoon arriving Bulawayo at around 04 pm, just an hour. The return flights from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls are also on Tuesdays and Thursday, however at around 10:45 in the morning arriving an hour later.

Another popular routing of Air Zimbabwe, for UK travelers in direct flights from Johannesburg to Bulawayo. These flights are on Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Monday leaving at around 02 in the afternoon. Other than that the flight flies via Victoria Falls to Bulawayo.

The maximum hand luggage allowed in Air Zimbabwe flight is 08 kilos. However the check in baggage allowance varies from destination to destination and season as well. On an average the flight departure from London are allowed 20 Kilos in Economy and 30 Kilos in Business class. The regional and domestic flights also allow the same limitation in checked in baggage and a 10 Kilos for infant. The child baggage allowance remains the same as adult.

What makes Air Zimbabwe one of the most convenient and customer friendly airline is the flexibility in terms and conditions such as “one free date change” is permitted either on departure or return. The cancellation of flights also can be done of minimum charges even after the tickets are issued. The airline permits a provisional reservation for 48 hours. The Children between 2-11 years get 25 percent discount if accompanied by an Adult. Accompanied Infant without a seat, gets 90 percent off and a 12 KG baggage to himself. While unaccompanied minors between 8 to 11 years only get a 25 percent off and have to pay the chaperon’s service of 20 GBP each way. Unaccompanied minors between 5 to 7 years have to pay an adult fare along with the chaperon service fee per segment of flight in order to be well taken care of.

The airline has a three digit Flight Number with Airline Code “UM”, the flight numbers are usually of 200, 300 and 700 series. The airline uses Boeing 737-200 air planes for domestic and short haul services (Total planes: 3 capacity 105), Boeing 767-200 is used in International Flights (total planes: 2 seating capacity 230) and Xian Ma60 for domestic flights (total 3: capacity 60). The seating map is 2:3:2 layout with a traditional interior in the international carrier planes Boeing 737-200.

The flight route also include Air Zimbabwe or Air Zimbabwe code share flights to and from Lusaka, Kuala Lumpur, Kinshasa, Lumberbashi, Mabuj Mayi, Gaborone, Lilongwe and Beijing.
