Channel 4 attacks British Airways

British Airways will be in the firing line in a TV documentary tonight for blaming cancelled flights on "extraordinary circumstances" to avoid paying compensation.

Channel 4 Dispatches programme The Trouble with British Airways focuses on the airline’s woes following the disastrous opening of Heathrow’s Terminal 5 earlier this year when thousands of bags went missing.

The programme is expected to claim that the airline uses "extraordinary circumstances" as a way of avoiding paying passengers affected by cancellations. This is denied by BA which says it paid £50 million in compensation to passengers last year.  The Dispatches programme is being shown on Channel 4 at 8pm tonight.
