A heavy storm hit Lebanon capital Beirut on Saturday forcing flight cancellations and disruptions at the Beirut International airport. However, the two leading UAE based airlines Etihad Airways and Emirates have announced that they are now operating flights to and from Beirut back as normal.
Emirates airline spokes person said on Saturday:
"We have received no alerts from our network control on flights to and from Beirut,"
Emirates is one of the world’s fastest growing airlines and offers flights to Beirut from worldwide destinations via Dubai. It has recently made a strong position in the world market as a connecting flight provider and also facilitates flights to Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Sydney, Auckland, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Wellington, Bombay, and nearly all six inhabited continents of the world.
The Abu Dhabi based airline, Etihad is a competitor and also operates flights to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Dubai and various European and Arab destinations. The airlines spokesperson said to ABTN news:
"There has been no delay so far in any Etihad flight to and from Beirut,"
