Ethiopian Airlines the new riser in Africa with its first Lady Captain

Ethiopian Airlines is a strong and rising carrier of African Continent. The airline is popular for travelers seeking cheap flights to Addis Ababa Ethiopia and holds a strong presence in UK. Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has its hub in the Ethiopian capital city and a major historic destination, Addis Ababa.

Very recently Ethiopian Airline did a remarkable addition in its professional team of flight attendants and air crew.  It was informed from Addis Ababa only last week, that Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has appointed their first lady captain. Though, Ethiopian Airline is not the first airline to take the initiative however, being an African Airline and belonging to a country where women are still fighting for equal rights, the move of Ethiopian airlines is highly impressive and appreciable at world level.

This dynamic lady, Ms. Amsale Endegnanew will be Ethiopian Airline’s first ever lady captain. Ms. Endegnanew has a strong reputation for serving as a first officer and flying a Boeing 737 and 767 air craft. The two are the most commonly known and used passenger planes. Ms. Endegnanew is now said to be in full command of a Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The bomber Q400 will be used to serve on various domestic routes. Also there are speculations that the craft may be on regional routes out of the airline’s hub at Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian Airline is the oldest airlines of the whole continent. The national carrier of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Airline is favored specifically for direct flights to Ethiopia from worldwide destination. Ethiopia is not only a prominent tourist destination but an ideal connecting point for flights to its neighboring destinations. Also there are many regional flights from Addis Ababa, such as flights between Addis Ababa and Harare.

Ethiopian Airlines is currently in a developing face and steadily climbing up the ladder of reputation and prestige. Ethiopian Airline has strong competitors in the African Continent that includes Kenya Airlines, South Africa airlines and most importantly Air Zimbabwe. Ethiopian Airline’s pother polar routes are flights to Harare, Zimbabwe, that fly via Addis Ababa or direct from Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
