October 18, 2010: Trends are changing rapidly in Far East travel as more tourists are opting for Phuket than Bangkok. This change is more visible among Chinese Travelers. The President of Thai–China Travel Association said that “the number of Chinese tourists visiting the country in the last quarter is satisfactory”. However, the unstable domestic political situation in Bangkok has caused them to change their destination to the Southern region. Thai baht as well as Chinese Yuan have undergone a recent hike in rates.

Thailand capital city has seen a social and political rift including rallies and explosions in Bangkok. This has not only diverted the travelers to Southern Thailand but also, caused a fall in tourism.
