Yesterday (June 2) Virgin Atlantic flew the England football squad to South Africa ahead of the 2010 Fifa World Cup. Manager Fabio Capello and his group of 23 players, along with the team’s coaching and medical staff, will board a specially chartered Airbus A340 at London Heathrow this evening.
Virgin Atlantic president Sir Richard Branson said: ‘I am extremely proud that the England World Cup squad chose Virgin Atlantic as their airline to fly them to the biggest tournament in the football calendar. ‘I am sure that the players will enjoy our award-winning Upper Class suite and that our cabin crew will make sure they are well looked after so they arrive in Johannesburg fit and ready to take on the world.’
