SYDNEY: Air Tahiti Nui has won the Best Airline – Pacific Region in the 2009 Skytrax global awards for airline excellence. And the international airline of Tahiti and Her Islands also took the Best Cabin Staff – Pacific title.
Air Tahiti Nui offers three weekly flights from Sydney to Papeete, Tahiti, via Auckland. From Auckland, the airline flies a three-class Airbus A340-300 aircraft to Tahiti, then on to the US, Europe and Japan.
“Our aim is to replicate on board our flights the same understated and hospitable service visitors have come to expect of our home destination,” says the airline’s regional director for Australia Craig Lee. Skytrax chief Executive Edward Plaisted says the latest awards were based on surveys of more than 16 million air travellers from 95 nationalities between last August and March.
