Qatar makes a century with its 100th route announced this month. The ideal score of a 100 destinations worldwide has brought the airline forward as one of the world’s fastest growing airline. Qatar Airways has also gained popularity as being the first to be given a five star ranking in terms of overall services and high standards. In only 13 years, the revolutionary airline has hit the score of 100 destinations worldwide, offering flights across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Oceania from its hub at Doha International Airport. Qatar is immensely popular airline in the west for providing cheap flights to Johannesburg, South Africa.
The airline has started with only four aircrafts, now owning 91 and growing rapidly from 13 destinations to 94 in more than 50 countries worldwide. Currently, Qatar holds the title of the ‘third best airline’ in the whole wide world and has raised its revenue dramatically in double digit growth year after year.
The 100th and latest route of Qatar Airways will start four-times-weekly flights to Aleppo, Syria, starting from 6 April 2011. It is Qatar’s second destination in Syria, after Damascus. The flight form Doha International Airport to Aleppo will be a three-hour journey, operated with an A320 in a two-class configuration. The airline has designated 12 seats in First Class and up to 132 seats in Economy Cabin. Aleppo will be the airline’s fifth new route in its global expansion in 2011, following Budapest (January 17), Bucharest (January 17), Brussels (January 31) and Stuttgart (March 6).
