Japan Airlines to increase fares between Japan and Hawaii by 13%

Japan Airlines (JAL) is raising its international fares from Japan to Hawaii by 13 percent. The JAL Group announced Friday it has requested approval from the Japanese government to raise fares for Japan departures on all international flights to Hawaii and the Americas. The increase will take effect April 1.

The company also requested increase on flights from Japan to Korea by 10 percent, and from Japan to other arts of Asia, by 7 percent. JAL Group will announce fare adjustments for travel from Japan to Europe, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand in February.

JAL announced in November that it was reducing its fuel surcharge on flights to Hawaii and the U.S. Mainland.
