JAL Cargo Fuel Surcharge for January 2010

Japan Airlines has applied to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to revise from January 1, 2010, its international cargo fuel surcharge for flights from Japan only. As the average fuel price of Singapore kerosene for the month of November in 2009 was US$85.08 per barrel, the benchmark fuel price used for calculation of the fuel surcharge level in October will be within the range of US$85.00 to US$89.99 per barrel. JAL’s international cargo fuel surcharge will therefore increase on long-haul international routes from 73 yen per kg to 80 yen, on medium-haul international routes from 63 yen per kg to 69 yen, and on short-haul routes from 53 yen per kg to 58 yen accordingly.
