On Monday Iberia will make a total of seven flights to Madrid from Johannesburg to carry Spanish players and their families, fans and Federation officials.
Iberia operated four special flights to Johannesburg on the eve of the final match between Spain and the Netherlands at the World Football Cup in South Africa. Two are for fans of the Spanish side, and the other two for members of the Spanish Football Federation and different Spanish authorities.
Iberia will use its largest and most modern aircraft, the Airbus A-340, for these flights. They will take off from Madrid-Barajas airport in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday morning, landing in Johannesburg at about 11 a.m., to give passengers plenty of time to get to the final match. The regular flight Iberia operates from Madrid to Johannesburg will depart at the same time, adapting its schedule time to the final match. Spanish team and fans to fly home with Iberia
Before dawn on Monday, between 1:30 and 1:45 am, only hours after the match ends, Spanish players and their families, Football Federation officials, authorities and fans will board four Iberia aircraft for the flight back to Madrid.
