Frankfurt – New York New Route Launched By Lufthansa

The German Airline based in Frankfurt, Lufthansa will be operating its Flights to New York City’s John F Kennedy airport using its new Air bus A380 air craft. The flights are scheduled to start operating on the Frankfurt-New York route from February 18, 2011 and available for reservation starting from December 14th, 2010.

New York is Lufthansa’s fourth destination served by the newly arrived airbus A380 aircraft. The first three Airbus A380 routes of Lufthansa include flights to Johannesburg, Beijing and Tokyo.

Lufthansa Airline stated in its announcement that initially the flights to New York will operate twice per week, on Mondays and Fridays however the frequency may later be increased depending directly on demand and success of the route. Here its important to mention that Lufthansa also operates flights from London Heathrow, hence the new route can be utilized as a connecting flights to USA from UK i.e. London – Frankfurt – New York and return vice versa. In case of a positive output Lufthansa may increase its flight frequency to JFK, by mid-April offering daily transatlantic service between Frankfurt and New York.

Frankfurt Airport Lufthansa Airlines Last Minute Flights Tokyo

The flight schedule released by Lufthansa today states that Lufthansa Airline flight number LH400 will be departing from Frankfurt airport at 11:05 a.m. and arriving at JFK airport New York at 1:35 p.m. The return flight number LH401 will take off from JFK airport New York at 4:10 p.m. and arrive back in Frankfurt at 5:50 a.m. the following day. 

The Airbus A380 is a highly advance aircraft with enhanced features and luxurious seating. Lufthansa’s Airbus A380 has been configured with a total 526 seats and all three cabins and the first class seats introduced by Lufthansa Airline to North American Market for the first time. These first class seats are 6-foot-9 in length and 2-foot-7 in width. The redesigned first class cabin also has one of its kind air humidification systems that help fights off jet lag. The First Class also has two large bathrooms with separate changing and lavatory areas that offer more personal space and storage options. Lufthansa’s business class is fitted with 98 seats with larger luggage bins and power outlets that work with all worldwide connections, eliminating the need for adaptors. The main deck economy cabin offers 420 seats with individual in-seat video screens, an optimized ergonomic seat design and slimmer seat back with two more inches of personal space per passenger. Lufthansa ‘s new flights to New York are highly anticipated and will make a difference to the North American market as well as another excellent addition in the international travel market.
