Flights To Helsinki-Nagoya With Finnair

The Finland based airline, Finnair has recently announced to increase flight frequency to Japan.

In 2010, not only many airlines have started doubling their flights to Tokyo, but many new carriers have launched new flights to the country. The country’s second big airport also underwent a renovation and now welcomes flights from London to Haneda Japan.

According to the Finnish national carrier, it will be adding an additional weekly flight from its Helsinki hub to Nagoya, Japan in the New Year. The first flight of this new service will be leaving today, Friday December 31, 2010. After which the total number of flights to Japan with Finnair will reach to a total of five flights per week. These flight departures can be booked form London Heathrow or Manchester Airports in UK to Helsinki-Nagoya Japan.

Finnair’s SVP Commercial Division Mika Perho stated at this occasion:

"Finnair’s position in traffic between Asia and Europe is strengthening continually. Our Asian strategy is working really well and demand has grown strongly,”

Finnair seems to be one of the many European Airlines trying to establish a strong position in the rising Asian market. In 2010, there has a massive increase in not only flights to Asia but also the number of tourists arriving this year is better than the post recession numbers of 2008.

In the coming year, Finnair is also increasing the number of flights to Seoul and Osaka. The airline has also announced to launch new flights to Singapore in May.
