Avis and British Airways partnership extended to all passengers

The agreement signed by British Airways and rental car company Avis 11 years ago has now been extended to cover all passengers travelling on the airline. Previously, only BA Executive Club members were eligible to participate.

In the new five-year, world-wide partnership the rental car company will supply vehicles to all classes of BA passengers. Avis rentals are to be available through all of the carrier’s booking channels, including the British Airways website. The new campaign, known as “Be There Sooner” will be unveiled by both partners later in the month.

In the new deal, BA Executive Club members will receive three BA Miles for every £1 spent on car hire with Avis, along with a number of other loyalty enhancements. Andrea Burchett, the director of relationship marketing and insight and BA Miles, commented:

“Avis has delivered a fantastic service to our Executive Club members since 1998. It was important to us that we extended this to all our customers worldwide and Avis had the capability, excellent service and the brand values to deliver that.”

Burchett went on to say: “The partnership seemed a natural fit for us and we know the benefits to our customers will be enormous – based on just four vehicle rentals in a calendar year, you could boost your BA Miles balance by in excess of more than 10,000, which means you’ll get to your desired destination sooner.”
