Followed by the merger between the two airlines, United and Continental Airlines have undergone changes at their terminals on Chicago O’Hare Airport. The changes involve Continental Airlines swapping terminals at United Airline’s largest hub Chicago O’Hare. These changes are part of the airlines’ merger. Further to that, Continental will stop operating flights from Terminal 2 and move to T1 from now on (Please seek up to date information by calling at the airport helpdesk).
The spokesperson for Continental Airline said recently in a statement, that the co-location is among “the first of many” changes, while the airlines move to streamline operations. The merger will not directly affect travelers who have reserved their flights with Continental or United Airlines as the carriers will continue to operate independently until mid year 2011, when they look to achieve a joint operating license.
The rebranding process has already started, part of which is the terminal swapping. Once the license is granted, with new livery the airline will operate under the name United, featuring the globe of Continental. In 2011, the world will see the globe but not the name ‘Continental Airline’.
