Air Pacific Books 200 Passengers In Hotels After Flight Delay

According to Radio Fiji, Air Pacific, Fiji’s international airline has placed more than two hundred travelers into hotels near Nadi International Airline earlier this morning. As, Air Pacific’s flight to Sydney, flight number 747 has been temporality grounded. The detailed cause of delay is not known however, initial reports indicate that the flight was delayed from origin point in California.

The initial delay is said to be triggered at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) when an antenna required for transoceanic flights had to be replaced, as stated by Radio Fiji

This delay at the LAX International airport has largely contributed to the flight grounding at Nadi for tonight as according to airline spokesperson, seventeen-hours slip in departure time at LAX has occurred due to an antenna replacement on the plane. This resulted in a delayed arrival of the flight in Nadi, hence the onward flight departure to Sydney could not be carried out and the airline booked all passengers on board in a hotel for tonight’s stop over.

Dave Pflieger, CEO Air Pacific has said that those scheduled to fly on today’s Nadi to Sydney flight will depart at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning and he has thank everyone affected by the delay for their patience and understanding.

Mr. Pflieger has further added that the airline is working hard to get them to their destination as soon as possible and Air Pacific expected all flights to be back on schedule by tomorrow evening.

All travelers affected by this delay are advised to contact the airline call centre / help line for further details of the schedule or confirmation.  Other destinations of Air Pacific are flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Fiji, Auckland and regional cities.
